Fantastic, Fabulous, rip-roaring action flick. A must-see for ACTION FANS and especially Transformer fans. Go watch it immediately.

Shia Lebouf is back as Sam to save the world along with Optimus Prime, our most beloved Truck turning into an awesome giant robot!! This time they really took it too far….far, far back into our ancestors. It looks like these “Primes” and”Decepticons” were part of Earth from time immemorial (hard to believe since cars and trucks didn’t exist then!!) but don’t think too much….this is an action movie. Treat it as such.

Of course the sexy foxy Megan Fox is back too. She tries hard to act but who cares? right? She is a sight to see!! Megatron is back seeking revenge and alongwith him is Starscream, a scarier villian that wants to destroy earth and has to be stopped.

From what we all know already, Michael Bay loves to EXPLODE, CRASH, BURN and VAPORIZE things in his movies and in this movie his kiddie enthusiasm for action has been finally realized!! Good going brother!!

If you are an action movie junkie…this is the movie for you. It’s a little too long for my liking but all in all a good movie after a long time.

Before you start reading this review, let me just tell you in as few words as possible what I think of this movie…..IT SUCKS!!

You will have a hard time deciding who is the worst actor of them all. I personally vote for Chris Klein. He can’t act for nuts. Horrible dialogue delivery, bad facial expressions and overall had no role except to be an american man on an all- asian movie.

Anyway, it all explodes in Bangkok, where Bison (who even has a Bison art on the wall) starts taking over the crime empire killing all the crime bosses in the country (Why? and How did he get away with it?) and then goes looking for his daughter who he personally “dug” out of her mom’s stomach killing her mom in the process (Pure HOGWASH…as the britishers like to say!!) His partner-in-crime: Michael Clark Duncan (WHY would he take on a FLOP when he has been doing all those good movies??) Then he drives everyone out of a major slum district, grabbing power and land no matter what the costs to its residents (and has the government on his side……….but where will the slum dwellers go? No thinking please…..if you want to watch this movie!) Chun-Li, a kid that saw her father being kidnapped by Bison, is out to get him alongwith help from her kung fu master, Gen, who was once Bison’s partner, who now fights for the forces of good and Interpol cop Charlie Nash, who has tracked the crime boss all over the world but cannot catch him nor can he act, and finally Nash’s local partner, homicide detective Maya Sunee, who can’t act either but flirts a lot.

Actors (if you can call them that): Kristin Kreuk, Chris Klein, Neal McDonough
Director: Andrzej Bartkowiak (what was he thinking?)

Running time:1 hr. 36 min. Rating: PG 13 (mostly for violence)

Genre: Action

Action. Thrills. Strong characters. Good story. My recommendation is to go see it if you have not. John Travolta and Denzel Washington have give stellar performances in this movie.

As you probably already know, this is a remake of the 1974 thriller with the same name. They have basically updated the story to suit the times. Ryder (John Travolta) hijacks a train on the Lexington Avenue line and holds 17 passengers hostage demanding ransom from a lowly employee of the transit authority, Walter Garber (Denzel Washington), who is himself embroiled in a intra-departmental inquiry on bribery charges. Thus starts a tense mental tussle between the two distinctly different opponents through the train’s communication system!

Beautiful portrayal by John Travolta, Denzel Washington and in a small way by James Gandolfini who acts as the Mayor of New York and a supposed replacement of Rudy Guiliani in the post 9-11 city.

My Rating:
Rating: ★★★★☆
(Rated: R Running time: 1 hour 44 mins)

The much-awaited sequel to the Terminator series is here. Lots of anticipation surrounded the release of this movie but alas, it didn’t really make my list of amazing movies. It was too much of the “machines” for me. I’m still a sucker for the old Arnold style Terminators because it involved a lot of human and few machines,,,not the other way around!!

Anyway, John Connor (Christian Bale) is back as the leader of the humans and he is aided by Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin) and Blair Williams (Moon Bloodgood) who take on the Skynet evil computer that controls all the machines/robots. Some think he is the ONE and others don’t. That’s how you will end up after watching the movie…liking it or not!! I was definitely on the NOT side. The movie was a little hotchpotch of stories and I got a serious feeling that it was dragged in between to stretch it to it’s current length. The new terminator, Marcus Williams (Sam Worthington) is a human (T-600 or something like that) that doesn’t even realize it is a robot and ends up almost destroying humanity.

Lots of action though too metallic, with too many machines and too few humans. I’d recommend watching it on DVD.

My rating:
Rating: ★★★☆☆
(Rated: PG-13, Running time: 2 hours, 10 mins)

I went in pretty sceptical having to see one more Star trek movie after years of watching it on TV in my childhood. Yet another attempt at banking on an old classic? But hey! I was pleasantly surprised. It’s indeed a very good movie.

Captain James Kirk (Chris Pine…..not the one that goes by the name “Negotiator” on Priceline!!) and Spock (Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy from the old series as his time travelled self) start out in this movie as kids showing their traits while they were growing up and then landing up together on the same starship first as bitter enemies later turning into friends for life!!

Loads of exciting adventure. Lots of action, fight scenes, explosions and everything else that makes Star Trek series so popular. Supporting them are a host of stars like Eric Bana (as Nero), Zoe Saldana (Uhura), Simon Pegg (“Beam me up, Scotty!” fame Scotty himself), Karl Urban (Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy), Anton Yelchin (Chekov), John Cho (Hikaru sulu) and Bruce Greenwood (Capt. Pike).

Directed by JJ Abrams, who was not even a fan of Star Trek and had not seen it before!! Admirable job nevertheless!!

My recommendation: Go watch it in a theater…you can’t get the same effect anywhere else!!

My rating:
Rating: ★★★★☆
(Rated: PG-13 Running time: 2 hours, 6 mins)

At the outset of this review itself I’d like to tell you to go see the movie so that some of you impatient people can just close this review and do better things with their time. Good Movie. It’s a thriller that is worth your time to either watch it at your local theater or on your DVD when it comes out.

It’s a prequel to Da Vinci Code but lacks the controversy and punch that the Da Vinci Code carried with it. It almost seemed like Dan Brown was trying to appease the Roman Catholic Church in this movie. Well, maybe he needed to, after the Da Vinci Code created a havoc in the christian world.

Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) is back as the Harvard Symbologist that the church calls in to find out if the dreaded Illuminati–an age-old enemy of the church that believed in science rather than god and went underground when the church decided to fight back–is indeed back in play and out for revenge! It’s an exciting movie that takes you through the Roman Catholic Church and all it’s intricate (and possibly archaic) rules and proceedings. The movie starts with the death of the Pope and the proceedings to elect a successor. Unfortunately, there is only one problem: All four possible successors have been kidnapped and each of them will be publicly executed every hour. Adding to this problem is the theft of “anti-matter” or “God Particle” (this is not entirely fiction as Europe is gearing to see if they can isolate this particle from matter…google it!!) from a laboratory in Europe that can destroy a whole Vatican unless Robert Langdon gets to the bottom of this mystery. Aiding him, is a scientist, Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer), who knows how to control the “anti- matter” and look sexy at the same time. Ewan McGregor & Stellan Skarsgaard are also part of the stellar cast and have exhibited excellent acting as expected from them. Ron Howard directs.

All in all, a good movie to watch for people who want the movie to move not-stop towards a thrilling end!! Go see it.

My Rating:
Rating: ★★★½☆
(Rated: PG-13 running time: 2 hours 20 mins)

I was very sceptical when I went to watch this movie. What was there in another one of X-Men movies except that it was in the past…a prequel? But, to tell you the truth, I was pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be quite a movie.

Logan aka Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Victor Creed or Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber) are brothers but different…quite different as we realize a little ways from the beginning. Victor’s lust for blood and killing gets started in the Vietnam war along side his brother who fights the war for the victory, not for the blood. Along comes Stryker (Danny Huston) who recruits them into his special ops of mutants and uses them to fight evil (or that’s what they thought). After quitting and trying to lead a normal life, Logan finds his girlfriend dead and vows revenge on her killer. Thence begins a saga for blood, revenge and ultimate victory.

I loved Wolverine, Sabretooth and the final villian (Deadpool) who has ALL their collective power and believe me, there are some AWESOME fights and actions sequences. A movie that you don’t want to miss if you are a action junkie!!

Go see it in a movie theater, people. It’s one of those movies that can’t be the same on DVD.

My rating:
Rating: ★★★★☆

Rating: PG-13 (Running time: 1 hour 47 mins)

Genre: Action, Comic book characters, Fantasy

The original players are back!! And, the original ACTION is back too. This movie will not disappoint the Fast and Furious fans. Take my word for it.

Fast paced action revolves around Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) who is out to get revenge for the death of his girl while running from the law and Agent Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker) who is gunning for Dom until they both realize there is an evil lurking that needs their attention first. Racing between Mexico and LA with their blazing cars and mind-boggling action, they both manage to create a immensely explosive drama on screen that will blow you away. Supporting them from the original cast are Michelle Rodriguez (good… as always) and Jordana Brewster (with her cute looks and limited acting ability). Don’t want to give away too many secrets but the bad guy’s screen name is Antonio Braga. Wanna guess who it is? See the movie!!

Really nice action movie. From what I can see, it has already made over $70 million in the US market and has been on the top of the charts since it came last week. My recommendation: Go see it in the THEATERS with Popcorn and Soda!!

Don’t believe the critics that say negative things about this movie. What do they expect from an ACTION movie about cars?? Emotional Award winning acting? This movie is for action lovers and believe me, there is plenty of it here!!

My rating:
Rating: ★★★★☆
(Rated: PG-13…Running time: 1 hour and 39 minutes)

Genre: Action Thriller

A few good actions scenes is all it has. BAD ACTING all over……..especially Chris Klein.

Bison (Neal Mcdonough) and Birog (Michael Clarke Duncan) are the bad guys. Chun-Li (Kristin Kreuk), Gen (her kung-fu instructor), Chris Klein (Sucky Acting Interpol detective), and Maya (the local policewoman) are the good guys. Right there you can see who wins….come on….it’s not fair….4 against 1?

Some good fighting sequences but overall the movie SUCKS big time. I cannot even recommend that you see it on DVD. Please save yourself a few bucks in this bad economy!!
