It’s the story of a popular stand-up comedian (Adam Sandler) who has a near-death experience… and what he does with a second chance in life.  The answer I got from the movie: NOTHING.

Don’t watch it…..don’t waste your money…it’ll be better spent if you go for a stand-up comedy show in your city!!

The movie is extremely depressing and dull and boring. Also starring…Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann.

My rating: 2 stars for some funny moments in the movie  (Rated: R   Running time: 2 hours, 16 mins.)

ICE AGE: Funny movie but I wasn’t that impressed and also maybe the franchise is getting too repetitive and old. Please don’t make another Ice Age for God’s sake!! Kids I guess will love it even if it’s Ice Age: 11th sequel. LOL

The NEW Ice Age is here….and like all other prequels, this one has Scrat looking for his acorn. The twist is that he just might get “lucky” in more ways than one, when he comes across a female squirrel named Scratte. On the other side, Manny and Ellie are expecting a baby; Diego is fed up with being lazy and wants to go on an adventure of his own;  Sid wants a family of his own and steals some dinosaur eggs landing them ALL in a new adventure underground with the DINOSAURS!! The addition of a one-eyed weasel known as Buck who hunts dinosaurs intently is a welcome change and a funny one at that.

Watch it and enjoy what might be the last of the series of ICE AGE movies.

Starts with Doug (Justin Bartha) planning his bachelors party in Vegas with his friends Stu (Ed Helms), a dentist who’s henpecked but plans to marry his girlfriend of three years, Phil (Bradley Cooper), a teacher who’s bored of the married life and Alan (Zach Galifianakis).  From there it goes into a hilarious plot that takes you on a laugh riot from the start to the finish. Some really funny scenes to watch for (most of these were shown in the trailer…so not a spoiler!): The tiger in their hotel, Mike Tyson (as himself), Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong), Vegas wedding to a stripper, a baby in the mix etc.

Go see it immediately. It is on the top of the charts even after 2 weeks. Director:   Todd Phillips.

Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) is back to being a Musuem guard giving us all this cock-and-bull about how he is a successful businessman now and all that. Almost seemed like the “As Seen on TV” commercials.  There a host of new characters that come alive including Ameilia Earhart (Amy Adams) who even falls in love with him!

The old gang is back too…..Theodore Rosevelt (Robin Williams), Jedediah (Owen Wilson), and Octavius (Steve Coogan). Adding to the line up are Rodin’s “Thinking Man”, Al Capone and Darth Vader. Also there are the usual dinosaurs, birds, animals and insects that come alive too. It left me wondering how the hell do all of them go back in their respective places and be inanimate again? But again, this is a fictional movie that just is there to make you feel good about spending your hard-earned money to make Hollywood rich!!

I beg of you not to watch this movie.

It is utterly dull, boring and makes absolutely no sense. What a waste of time and money.

Seth Rogen and Ray Liotta made BAD choices accepting this movie. It’s a story like an earlier release “Mall Cop” but I’d recommend Mall Cop over this movie any day.

The story (it has none!!) just rambles all over the place. You have no idea what they are doing, where they are headed and what they are trying to convey. Man! it isn’t funny either…a couple of funny moments like the flasher in the mall but that’s it.

I felt like crying in this movie for having wasted my money for tickets and popcorn/soda. I wouldn’t have seen it for FREE if I had known about this. So be forewarned!!

A NEW JERSEY security guard at a mall, who gets rejected by the NJ cops because of his Hypoglycemia, has to turn himself into a real cop to rescue hostages at the mall, especially the girl he likes and his own daughter ultimately proving to be an “ass-kicker”

Carl Allen (Jim Carey) is a bitter man that avoids company like water on a duck’s back including his best friend (Bradley Cooper) always saying “NO” at every opportunity. He excels in finding excuses to avoid doing anything with anyone until a friend of his introduces him to a motivational guru (Terence Stamp) who teaches people to say ‘Yes’ to life! It turns his life around leading to hilarious situations!

In the course of his ‘yes’ campaign, Carl meets Allison (Zooey Deschanel) who is a happy-go-lucky free-spirited eccentric young girl and they both ride the emotional boat over the rough waters of life. “Yes” leads Carl to realize that just as he didn’t have to say “No” all the time, he doesn’t have to say “yes” all the time too.

Peyton Reed directs.

Cool movie…don’t expect too much though. Good laughs especially from Jim Carrey and Rhys Darby (playing his boss at the bank). If you want to see a funny movie this weekend, go for Yes Man.

Disney has yet another box-office hit on its hands. Disney’s white German Shepard, BOLT comes through for them adding to their already impressive imaginative characters that sway us from this reality to a fictional world we would like to be our own.

Bolt (John Travolta) believes that he is a dog with super powers and he believes that he saves his owner Penny (Miley Cyrus) every day but it’s all being orchestrated by the TV crew behind the scenes. One day, believing that Penny is kidnapped by the green-eyed man, Bolt escapes from the studios into the real world only to discover that he is an ordinary dog with no powers.

What started as an adventure to rescue Penny turns out to be an adventure of self-realization for Bolt. Helped and accompanied by two of his “friends” that he meets along the way from NYC to Hollywood Bolt discovers that he is a hero in his own right. The black housecat Mittens (Sussie Essman) and the hamster in a ball, Rhino (Mark Walton) take you through a hilarious journey with Bolt that leaves you rolling on the floor laughing (ROFL).

Go see it people!! Amazing movie. Good story. Superb animation.

They believe in escaping from the families at Christmas time on the pretext of travel to exotic locations for “humanitarian” reasons. This story is of one Christmas when the fog in ‘Frisco stops all flights and makes them visit their families for Christmas. In the midst of all the hilarious journey, they find many truths about “family” life and what they have been running away from all these years. Starring Vince Vaughn, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, Jon Voight, Jon Favreau, Mary Steenburgen. Directed by Seth Gordon.

Really nice, funny movie. Go watch it now….especially if you are feeling down and want a laugh or two!!

Normally Role Models are people that kids look up to and want to emulate…NOT in this case!! Wheeler (Seann William Scott) and Danny (Paul Rudd) are two colleagues (and sometimes on, sometime off friends) selling energy drinks to school kids that get into a lot of trouble when Danny crashes his truck. Instead of being sent to jail, they are sent to “Sturdy Wings” to become “role model” mentors to the kids there to satisfy 150 hours of community service. NOT a good idea at all because the kids here are not as innocent as they look!

Each adult (called the “bigs”) is alloted one kid (the “little”) to mentor. Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse…remember ”McLovin” from SUPERBAD?) who dresses up as a knight from Middle-Earth and “fights” imaginary battles with his “soft” sword, along with foul-mouthed Ronnie (Bobb’e J. Thompson) who is hilariously funny throughout the movie, make up the “littles.” Danny’s girlfriend Beth (Elizabeth Banks) is the female lead and looks good and acts fairly good but is not as funny as the rest of the cast.

Role Models with its crude sexual humor along with a smattering display of “boobies” is a laugh riot and all in all a good movie to watch.
