LAKEVIEW TERRACE Movie Review

Lakeview Terrace
Lakeview Terrace

I can tell you one thing about Samuel L. Jackson…this is not a high point in his career though he always acts well. A good movie to watch if you don’t have anything else to do but really goes on the age-old thriller routine. A little far-fetched storyline with Jackson as an uptight cop that somehow lives in a high society mansion up in the california hills and turns psycho when his new neighbors turn out to be a white man (Patrick Wilson) married to a black woman (Kerry Washington). He goes out of his way to terrorize them into leaving the house building up to a climax when the couple decides to fight back, except it disappoints and falls far short of what I expected. A pretty dull ending leaves a few dead bodies along the way. A lot of racial comments under the guise of a movie storyline and always accepted when uttered by a black man. My recommendation: See it on DVD.

Directed by Neil LaBute. Produced by James Lassiter and Will Smith.
