Maybe some of you might label this as a “chick-flick” but it’s a movie that moves your heart, in fact it twists it and turns it around and by the time you are over and done, it’ll make you feel emotionally drained and exhausted. Who in this world doesn’t want a second chance at life? Maybe you’re young now and have the best life but believe me, when you grow older there will be regrets and things done wrong and a terrible need to redo some things in your life. Some of us do get that second chance, like Adrienne Willis (Diane Lane), a mother-of-two in her mid-life who finds her husband cheating on her and separates from him only to find him asking her to take him back after 7 months. Confused and disoriented with her senses, she decides to take a break and lands into the arms of a handsome doctor, Dr. Paul Flanner (Richard Gere) with his own set of problems arising from a crisis of conscience. They bond over a weekend in Rodanthe (pronounced Roe-Dan-Thee) on the North Carolina coast in an inn for four days with the backdrop of the hurricane winds, flooding and mental chaos. But do second chances take you on a different life path or do they just provide a respite from the existing one? Watch the movie to see the life-altering romance and the aftermath of it all.
A beautiful movie to watch. An utter delight to see established actors like Richard Gere and Diane Lane take on these challenging roles and tranform them into a true masterpiece of art. Directed by George C. Wolfe and based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks of the same name. Our rating:
