I’m personally fascinated by historical movies from the old and ancient times. so this movie will get a good rating from me. Having said that, I’d still say this is a great movie to watch for its content, acting and costumes. Keira Knightley as Georgiana Cavendish (nee Spencer), The Duchess of Devonshire (1757 – 1806) dazzles along with Ralph Fiennes as the Duke. The Duchess’ beauty, fashion and her unusual married life (including accepting her husband’s mistress who happened to be her best friend, being a loving mother to his illegitimate daughter and giving birth to her lover’s child) just add to the excitement and allure that you can only imagine in the world today but what actually happened in real life in the 18th century England. Just for you history buffs….Lady Diana, the late Princess of Wales and wife of Prince Charles, was the descendent of The Duchess through her brother’s lineage!!
