The Express
The Express is the movie to watch, whether you like it in theatres or on DVD. Also if you like true stories that move you and make you sit up in your seat and vow to do better in life, this is that movie. Ernie Davis (Rob Brown) learns his first lesson in football when he is surrounded by the local white boys and he has to run for his life. Lessons learned in early childhood and his persistent school coach Ben Schwartzwalder (Dennis Quaid) enabled Ernie to be the first African-American player to receive the Heisman Trophy in 1961 overshadowing his predecessor, Jim Brown’s acheivements in college football. But, he never got to play in the NFL….see the movie to find out why. People with no knowledge of football may also find this movie interesting to say the least. Go and see it now!
